Well it is a quiet simple question to answer ..... But not a very easy to define !
NO !!!!
No , India is not a Country where you can buy Supercars and Luxury cars for cheap as they are imported ......... Yes that's all because Car is imported in India and Also because all of these Supercars and Luxury Cars are imported in India .
And what I meant by " BECAUSE OF IMPORT " is Related to topic of "CUSTOM DUTY CHARGES " and "IMPORT TAX " ( Now I sounds like your Economics Teacher ) .
Well before telling your what are they , I want to tell you these taxes and Can increase the price of Imported Car by 150% to 200% (And More In some Cases ) . These taxes are not Only applied on Supercars and Luxury cars , Maybe ( Or maybe not ) Some time You Saw that the Price Tag of a Electronic Tech are more Expensive In India than in U.S.A or U.K and If you haven't Noticed just Go to Amazon.com and Campare the Price of Electronic Like " iPhone " and Campare it To Amazon.in ('s) price ! You will find difference .
Lets Now Talk about these Taxes that what are they ? , Basically These taxes are applied on your vehicle and electronics because If Your Good is being transferred from other country so Is Sure that it will require some care (Thats Something We all are aware of ) But Then Things Change when Government Want to Charge you !!! For what Nothing Just because You Have Imported Those , Government wants to Influence the Domestic Companies , If you remember IN CHAPTER IF HISTORY (India) that when Our country was Under administration of British Rulers People started to buy the clothes which where made in India , because they want British Rulers to be in loss . From then , This System Evolved after Britishers leave in India and It got Independence And Till Now We are Paying taxes to get things which are not made in India And Imported . Well for sure India is a developing country So all taxes Will be For building New Infrastructure And Maintenance .
BUT WHAT I TOLD YOU THIS DOESN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE !
Yes , It does not sound very great for us because probably more and more people gonna afford that thing which is imported for example an iPhone . And paying 150% TAX OR MORE !!!! THIS IS JUST ............... TOO MUCH ! Isn't it ? AND why this sounds stupid is the fact that there are no domestic brand which Make that product or cars ( I meant LIKE THAT) . So if you are not making those types of products so why you have Too High Taxes on importing of That products WHY ???
